Jaquet Droz Eclipse Watch and Grande Seconde Minute Repeater for 2010
At this year¡¯s Baselworld, distinguished Swiss watch maker Jaquet Droz presented four brilliant new watches- The Eclipse, Grande Seconde Minute Repeater, Grande Seconde SW Titanium and The Heure C¨¦lest.and amazed watch lovers from all corners of the whole world.
The Eclipse, getting inspiration from the moon, presents the day of week, the date, month and the current moon phase. On the decent black Grand Feu enamelled dial of this simple style watch, there showcases a moon with a melancholic face and eight stars. It seems that eight is Jaquet Droz¡¯s favorite number this year. You can see it is highlighted in not a few new models launched this year. As we know, the moon phase is in fact fixed, with while the moon phases is displayed by subtly pivoting matt black mask. The watch is powered by the Jaquet Droz calibre 6553L-an automatic movement that comes with a 68-hour power reserve. Crafted from 18k rose gold, the watch has 43mm case and looks both classically elegant with a subtle modern hint.
For another watch line, Jaquet Droz has made a gorgeous Grande Seconde Minute Repeater that marks the time(right down to minute) by chiming notes of different pitch. Thanks to the automatic Jaquet Droz calibre 2635, the watch is able to work for 48 continuous hours after fully wound. The watch, featuring a 43mm case made from 18K rose gold, has an ivory Greand Feu enamelled dial where two subsidiary dials naturally overlap into a large numeral ¡°8¡±. The subdials look quite harmonious either with the dial itself or the case. According to Jaquet Droz watches, the Grande Seconde Minute Repeater watch is just limited to 28 pieces worldwide. Each piece has its own individual, limited number marked on the dial and the case back.
